Responsible Gaming
Energy wants to ensure that its players gamble in a responsible manner. We acknowledge that gambling can be addictive to some and affect their lives negatively. Since we care for our players and want online gaming to be an enjoyable experience, we offer various measures for our players to gamble responsibly. These can be set by the player and include the following:
- Set limits on deposits
- Set limits on wagers and losses
- Set limits on session time
- Take a break or self-exclude for a definite period of time
- Set limits on deposits
- Set limits on wagers and losses
- Set limits on session time
- Take a short break / Self exclude
At Energy, we believe that all gambling activities should be enjoyed for fun and entertainment, in a responsible manner. It’s important to acknowledge that gambling poses the inherent risk of developing problematic behaviours and addiction. Players may see gambling as a way to make money, believing that, with luck, they may win big or recoup any losses. When you find yourself chasing wins and losses, the result is a vicious circle of piling up losses and increasing wagers to recover them.
Energy puts the safety of gamblers at the forefront of its policies and processes to ensure as that our responsible gambling standards are implemented everywhere the danger of developing an addiction is present.
Slot players will now notice that:
- The net wins/losses for the session can be displayed via the associated function.
- The autoplay feature is no longer available.
- Simultaneous play on two or more slots is not permitted.
- Session duration is properly displayed.
- Every spin has a minimum duration of 2.5 seconds.
- Quick spins and slam stops are no longer available.
- Celebratory sounds or effects prompted by winnings equal to or less than the wagered amount are no longer available.
Responsible Gambling Tips
For most people, gambling is exciting and entertaining. They make careful decisions about how to spend their time and money, and know where and how to have fun.
Here’s how you can control your gambling:
- Decide on a loss limit ahead of time and stick to it.
- Low-risk gambling is a way of playing with minimal chances of losing control. The key to low-risk gambling is to acknowledge that "it's only a game".
- Never borrow money to gamble.
- Set a limit on session time.
- Take frequent breaks.
- Balance gambling with other activities.
- Don't gamble when highly stressed, depressed, intoxicated or troubled in any way.
- Only gamble with money set aside for entertainment, never with money for everyday expenses.
You can realise that you have a problem with self-control:
- If you are leaving your family alone for extended periods of time, in favour of gambling.
- If you frequently argue with your partner about spending too much time and money on gambling and find that you cannot stop or exercise self-control.
- If you are gambling family money needed for rent/mortgage, schooling, medical bills, groceries, clothes, or heat.
- If you feel that you have to gamble to spend time with the people you can relate to.
- When you are with your family, at work, or at social events, you find that you are constantly thinking about your next bet.
- If you look at gambling as a way of making money fast.
- If your answer to any of the above is “YES”, then we suggest that you take immediate action BEFORE the problem worsens. There are many organisations that may help you deal with problem gambling.

DEBT AND FINANCIAL ADVICE

Actions to take
Account Closure:
Whilst most players enjoy their gambling, we recognise that for a small number of people, gambling can cease to be fun and may become problematic. With this in mind, please take a moment to read about our player protection services:
Time Out (Short Break):
At Energy, we offer the option to Time Out. This enables players to temporarily close their accounts for the following durations:
- 24 hours
- One week
- 30 days
Once a Time Out period has begun, a player will not be able to deposit funds or use any of our products.
Self Exclusion:
Energy offers a self-exclusion facility, allowing players to exclude themselves for a minimum of six months. Once the self-exclusion period has started it is impossible, under any circumstances, to reactivate an account until the defined period has expired. During self-exclusion, Energy is committed to preventing new accounts from being opened by self-excluded players.
To self-exclude, simply select the desired period from the options. In line with regulations, we offer self-exclusion periods of six or twelve months. You can also enter permanent self-exclusion by contacting our Customer Service. Please be aware that self-exclusion is effective immediately. At the end of the chosen period, the self-exclusion will remain in place unless the player takes deliberate action to resume gambling.
In the case of accounts closed through user-defined self-exclusion, any remaining balances will be refunded. Should the refund be technically impossible, due to restrictions imposed by payment providers, the funds will be donated to a charity for socially responsible causes. If requested, a BACS payment may be issued in some cases.
If a player chooses not to renew self-exclusion and wishes to reopen their account, a positive return procedure must be completed and approved by our Responsible Gaming department. The request can be submitted through our Customer Service team and will require a phone call, or other verification steps, to complete the procedure and reactivate the player’s account.
Should the Responsible Gaming team allow you to gamble again, a cooling-off period of 24 hours will be observed before gambling can resume.
For further information regarding the account closure tools, please contact Customer Service via the 'HELP' button located on the menu bar.
GAMSTOP:
If you are considering self-exclusion, you may wish to register with GAMSTOP.
GAMSTOP is a free service that enables you to self-exclude from all online gambling companies licensed in Great Britain.
To find out more and to sign up with GAMSTOP, please visit gamstop.co.uk.
Limits:
We encourage players to set limits on deposits, wagers, and losses to manage their funds responsibly. Limits can be set for periods of one day, one week, or one month, and cannot be overridden. Players can decrease their limits, with immediate effect, at any time.
For instance, players should carefully consider if they can afford to increase the deposit limits. Players should never increase deposits in an effort to win back the money they have lost, and will be required to wait 24 hours before requests to increase or revoke limits are approved.
Limits can be set or amended by accessing the Responsible Gaming section, selecting ‘CHANGE’ and saving the choices made. To cancel a limit, the player must contact our support via live chat or email.
Protection of Minors
With the Internet so readily accessible in homes around the world, responsible online gambling relies heavily on responsible parenting. In order to ensure child safety on the net, Energy encourages its players to make use of filtering software to prevent minors from accessing inappropriate online material. Underage gambling is not only illegal but can also result in gambling dependencies and huge gambling debts incurred by unsupervised children.
Tips for Parents:
- Do not leave your computer unattended.
- Password-protect your computer.
- Do not allow persons under 18 to participate in any gambling/betting activity.
- Keep your login/account details and bank card(s) information out of reach of children.
- Do not save passwords onto your computer. Write them down instead.
- Limit the amount of time your children spend online and make use of software to prevent your children from accessing inappropriate material.
There are a number of third party applications available that parents or guardians can use to monitor or restrict the use of their computer's access to the Internet. These include:
- Net Nanny filtering software protects children from inappropriate web content: www.netnanny.com
- CYBERsitter filtering software allowing parents to add websites to a custom blocklist: cybersitter.27labs.com
For more information about raising awareness and understanding of emerging trends, as well as other issues regarding internet safety, we recommend that parents visit the EU co-funded website: www.betterinternetforkids.eu.
